Who Runs TaskNest Hub

TaskNest Hub is a US home-services marketplace operated from New York. We connect customers with local Taskers for household and small handyman jobs, and we try to keep the pricing and the reviews honest.

What we are

The difference between a marketplace and a contractor matters when you read a rate.

A marketplace, not a contractor. We do not send employees to your home. Taskers are independent providers who set their own rates and choose the jobs they take. Our job is to run the platform: listings, scheduling, payments, vetting, and support.

That distinction matters when you read a rate or a review, because the person doing the work is the person whose profile you are looking at. When a Tasker raises a rate, the change lands on their listing, not on a hidden internal tier. When a job goes well, the review attaches to the individual who did it, and the next customer can read the whole record before booking.

It also shapes what we will not do. We do not dispatch a crew under a single brand name, we do not bill by the hour from our own ledger, and we do not hold a Tasker’s schedule hostage to a central queue. The platform earns its place by making the match legible: service, rate, availability, reviews, then a booking window.

Where we operate

Our office is at 120 Broadway, 17th Floor, New York, NY 10271. Tasker supply is deepest in major US metros, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Houston, with coverage extending into surrounding suburbs.

Smaller cities have fewer Taskers, which mainly affects same-day options rather than whether a job gets done. Enter your ZIP code and the listing shows who is actually available near you.

Why we built it

Calling around for a two-hour job is a bad use of an afternoon. Most small repairs and assembly tasks fall into a gap: too small for a contractor to schedule, too fiddly to enjoy doing yourself.

The marketplace model fixes the matching problem. You see rates, availability, and reviews before you talk to anyone, and you book a window that fits your week. It is a simple idea and it works because the supply side is local.

That is the whole reason the site exists. A shelf that will not stay level, a closet door that needs a new hinge, a bed frame still in the box two weekends later — each is a twenty-minute search away from a Tasker who already owns the right bits. What was missing was not labour. It was a way to see who is free, what they charge, and what other customers said afterwards.

What the platform carries

  • Listings
  • Scheduling
  • Payments
  • Vetting
  • Support

Those five things are our side of the bench. Everything on the other side — the rate, the scope, the hours — belongs to the Tasker.

How listings are kept useful

Taskers set their own rates and describe their own scope. We review profiles for completeness and remove listings that misrepresent skills or sidestep the platform. Reviews come from completed bookings only, and critical reviews stay up. When a Tasker’s work falls outside the categories they claim, we follow up. This is ongoing work rather than a one-time launch task, and it is the part of the platform most worth maintaining.

  • Profile review

Every listing is read for completeness before it goes live: services claimed, service area, and a scope description a customer can actually check against their job.

  • Reviews from bookings

Only customers who completed a booking can leave a review, which keeps the record tied to real work instead of open commentary.

  • Removal

Listings that misstate skills or route a customer off the platform come down. Repeated cases end a Tasker’s access.

  • Scope follow-up

When work lands outside the categories a Tasker claims, we follow up and adjust the profile so the next customer sees the real scope.

How we guide customers

The category pages explain what each service covers, what it costs, and where the handyman line stops. We say when a job needs a licensed electrician rather than a general Tasker, even though that means we do not get the booking.

Clear scope prevents disputes, and it is cheaper for everyone than a job that goes wrong. If a page does not answer your question, tell us and we will improve it.

Where the line sits

A hinge, a shelf, a door that sticks — general Tasker. New wiring, gas work, permits, load-bearing changes — a licensed trade, and we say so on the category page.

The Taskers on the platform

Taskers are independent providers across the US. Some work full time, others book evenings and weekends around another job. Many specialize: assembly, mounting, cleaning, moving help, or small repairs. They set their own rates, accept or decline bookings, and build a record over time. The best ones accumulate detailed reviews that tell you more than a star rating. If you find a good one, rebook them directly.

Mounting and hanging — shelves, frames, and brackets set level.

Cleaning and reset — move-in, move-out, and between-tenant work.

Specialists tend to answer faster and quote tighter, because the job you are posting is the job they do every week. A Tasker who mounts televisions all day will tell you the right bracket before you buy it. Someone who assembles flat-pack furniture will know which cam lock you are missing. When you are unsure who to pick, read the recent reviews first: they usually name the specific job, the room, and how the visit went.

If you are a Tasker

Applications go through the same page as customer support. You set your own rate and your own week; we handle the listing, the payment, and the record.

Reviews and why we do not curate them

We do not remove critical reviews that reflect a real booking. We do remove reviews that violate our guidelines, such as those containing personal information or abuse. That distinction keeps the record useful.

A Tasker with a four-point-something average and a detailed reply to a negative review often tells you more than a perfect score with no history. Read the recent reviews first.

The practical reason is simple: a curated wall of praise stops being information. If a rate went up, if a job ran long, if a bracket turned out to be the wrong one — that belongs in the record, next to the Tasker’s own reply. The next customer gets to weigh it, and the Tasker gets to answer in the same place.

Vetting, in brief

Taskers verify their identity and go through a background screening before they can accept bookings. The check runs before they go live and repeats on a schedule. It reflects available records at the time it runs, which is why we pair it with reviews and booking history.

No screening is a substitute for reading the recent record. A clear check tells you who someone is; the booking history tells you how they work.

How we handle pricing transparency

Taskers set hourly rates, and the booking flow shows the rate plus the platform fee before you confirm. No hidden charges are added after the work. Where a project price makes more sense, the listing shows that option too.

We do not run surge pricing or surprise multipliers. If you see something that does not match this, tell support and we will look at it.

Support and how to reach us

Support handles booking questions, Tasker issues, and partnership inquiries. You can reach us through the contact page, and response times are listed there.

For an active booking, messaging through the platform is faster because it keeps the record in one place. If something goes wrong during a visit, report it in the booking so support has the context. We read what comes in.

What we are not

We are not a general contractor, a moving company, or a cleaning franchise. We do not take on remodels, permits, or structural work, and we do not send a general Tasker to a job that needs a licensed trade. We are also not a directory of unverified names. Every Tasker on the platform has completed identity verification and background screening. The scope is narrow on purpose, because that is where the service is useful.

That narrowness is a promise about what you will find here, not a claim about what any single visit will cost. Rates come from the Tasker, the schedule comes from the Tasker, and the review that follows comes from the customer who was actually there. Our side is the platform around all three.

Questions we get about the marketplace

Short answers to the things customers ask before their first booking, and the things Taskers ask before applying.

Who is actually doing the work?
Independent Taskers, not our employees. Each listing belongs to one provider who sets the rate and chooses the jobs. The profile you open is the person who arrives.
What kind of jobs fit the platform?
Household and small handyman work: furniture assembly, mounting and hanging, cleaning, moving help, and small home repair services. Remodels, permits, and structural work sit outside the scope and we route them elsewhere.
Why does coverage look thinner outside big cities?
Supply is local. Dense metros hold more Taskers, so same-day windows open up more often there. In smaller cities the work still gets done, but you may be booking further ahead.
How do I know a Tasker is vetted?
Identity verification and background screening run before a Tasker can accept bookings, and the check repeats on a schedule. Because a check reflects records at the time it runs, read the recent reviews alongside it.
Can I apply as a Tasker from this page?
Applications go through the same channel as customer support. Send your trade, the areas you cover, and the hours you keep, and the team will follow up with the next steps.

Getting in touch

If you have a question about a booking, a Tasker, or coverage in your area, the contact page is the place to start. If you are a Tasker interested in joining, the same page handles applications. And if you just want to see what is available near you, post a task and look at the listings.
